How to defeat a monster in a children’s story?

i’m writing a children’s story, any ideas on what the characters should use to defeat the monster in the story? btw it’s underwater
be specific !

Well it really depends on what type of genera that you are portraying in your book. what kind of monsters? do they have any special talents? It is hard to say how defeat them with out knowing story line or if mystical items are involved in the story. Are they mythological type creatures or are they just normal sea monsters? Do they have to find some special weapon or spell to defeat them or do they need to defeat them by using their brains and cunning? Are they magical creatures? I mean you could use anything from a magical piece of coral to a dagger or even go so far as to lure them into under water passage way and have it collapse. Just hard to give how they could be killed with out knowing what type of monster and what are the abilities of the hero’s.
